Real enemies are heat… Wimbledon in 34 degrees heat wave
The enemy is not the only opponent on the other side of the coat. The biggest enemy is. It’s hot. This is the reality of the players who participated in the Wimbledon Tennis Competition.
On the 2nd (Korea time), the All England Club in London, UK recorded 34.2 degrees Celsius, and showed a steamer heat close to the highest temperature (35.7 degrees) in 2015. On the opening day of the day (1 day), it was 29.7 degrees Celsius, which was recorded as the opening day of all time. The previous record was 29.3 degrees Celsius, which was built in 2001.
In the hot sun, the crowd had to line up the umbrella, and the players endured water bottles and ice towels on the court. The straw hat sold at the Wimbledon store was sold out early in the afternoon. On the opening day, a female fan in the stands was tired of the heat.
Extreme weather also affected the coat’s performance. Novak Zokovic (Serbia, the world’s sixth place) defeated Alexandre Müller (France) 3-1 in the first round of men’s singles, but had difficulty requesting medical time out during the game. After the game, Jokovic said, “I don’t know if it was gastroenteritis, but the energy was restored like a miracle.” The 38 -year -old Jokovic is challenging the most major singles (25 times) in this competition. Yannik Shiner (Italy), the world’s No. 1 men’s singles, defeated Luka Nardi 3-0 in the heat and rose to the second round.
But it was due to the weather. Alexander Tsuberef (Germany, 3rd) lost 2-3 after 4 hours and 40 minutes of fighting with Artur Linder Knesy (France, 72th), while Lorencho Museti (Italy) was 126th in Nicholos Basilasibili (Georgia).
In the women’s singles, the French Open Women’s Single Winner Coco Gop (US, 2nd) was defeated 0-2 by Tayana Yastremska (Ukraine, 42nd). After the open era (1968), when professional players participated in major competitions, the French Open winner has fallen in the first round of the next major tournament, Wimbledon. Jessica Pegula (US, 3rd) and Chung Chin -won (China, 6th) also drank the first round of elimination.
There are a total of 23 seeds who were eliminated in the first round of the tournament. Since 2001, 32 men and women have been assigned to seeds. Experts analyze not only to exhaust their health during the game, but also to decrease the concentration due to heat and frequent medical timeouts.
Wimbledon started with a record heat. The conquest of the heat is expected to conquer the court.
