Park Joo-hee, a member of the World Aquatics Federation’s executive committee, was appointed as the new chairman of the International Sports Strategy Committee (ISF), a foundation.

The International Sports Strategy Committee recently held an extraordinary board meeting and announced that Park Joo-hee, an executive member of the World Aquatics Federation, was appointed as the new chairman, succeeding International Olympic Committee (IOC) member Yoo Seung-min. The International Sports Strategy Committee is a private sports diplomacy specialized organization under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, established to promote international sports cooperation and contribute to improving international competitiveness.

New Chairman Park started as a doping inspector for the Korea Anti-Doping Commission in 2007 and served as ‘Korea’s first international doping inspector.’ Afterwards, he served as a doping inspector at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics, an education member of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) at the 2012 London Olympics, and general manager of medical and doping areas at the Incheon Asian Games and Gwangju Universiade.

New Chairman Park, who served as a member of the evaluation committee for candidate sites to host the 2030 Asian Games, was also the first Korean to be appointed as a member of the Scientific Committee of the International Olympic Academy under the International Olympic Committee.
