Zubac shines in the Clippers’ new celebration, knocking the Warriors off the top of the West

The Los Angeles Clippers defeated the leading team of the Western Conference of the NBA League, the Golden State Warriors, 102-99, thanks to the excellent performance of Ivica Zubac, who recorded as many as 17 rebounds and scored eight points.

It was a game that the guests opened with a three-pointer by Lindy Waters for 3-0 and it was their only lead in the match.

The Clippers had a 12-point lead (25-13) in the first quarter, and +15 (52-37) in the second quarter, but the Warriors tied the score at 72-72 at the end of the third period. In the last quarter, the home team escaped to a 10-point difference 2:28 minutes before the end, but Golden State got closer to only three points behind 35 seconds before the end (99-102).

After LA missed the attack, the Warriors had a chance to win overtime, but they failed to hit a three-pointer in two attempts. First he missed Stephen Curryand then Gary Payton II with two seconds left.

Both teams struggled with turnovers – the Clippers had 20 and the Warriors 19, but the decision was made by the hosts’ excellent defense, which kept the visitors under 100 points, although their average this season is 121 points per game.

Norman Powell led the Clippers to their seventh victory, with seven losses, with 23 points, Amir Coffey scored 15, James Harden had 12 points and 16 assists, while Ivica Zubac scored 8 points, with as many as 17 rebounds, four assists and two stolen balls.

Zubac spent 36 minutes on the court, and only Harden played more than him, 41 minutes.

For the Warriors, for whom it was only the second defeat in 12 meetings, the most effective were Curry with 26 points, seven rebounds and six assists, and Andrew Wiggins with 22 points.
