Ji Yu -chan (22, Daegu City Hall) ranked seventh in the 2025 World Swimming Championship Frequency 50m Finals held in Singapore on the 2nd. In the semi -finals of the day before (1st), he was the first Korean player to enter the world championship final with the new Asian record.

Ji Yu -chan recorded the seventh touchpad with 21 seconds and 71 records. The gold medal was won last year by the Paris Olympic winner Cameron McCarth Boy (Australia, 21 seconds 14), and the silver medal was taken by Benjamin Proud (UK, 21 seconds 26) and the bronze medal by Jack Alexi (US, 21 seconds 46).

Although he failed to win the medal, Ji Yu -chan scored the highest scores of Korean players in the world championship freestyle 50m. In the semi -finals, 21 seconds 66, the Asian record (21 seconds 67), set in 2019 by Shiura Sinri of Japan, was set up in the semi -finals. The Korean record (21 seconds 72), which he wrote when he won the gold medal at the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games (held in 2023), was also exceeded.

The steady growth of the 2026 Asian Games (Aichi-Nagoya) and the 2028 Olympics (LA) were also bright. Ji Yu -chan was the first Korean player in Doha last year to enter the world championship freestyle 50m semi -finals, but failed to advance to the finals with 12th overall. It is the achievement of this step further in Singapore.

Ji Yu -chan said, “I wanted to show you a good finish as it came up hard to the finals.” But “I am pleased to be able to end with a good record. It was helpful to shorten the records of confidence in each game.
