The KIA Tigers advanced directly to the Korean Professional Baseball Series for the first time in seven years.

As the Samsung Lions, second in the regular league, lost 4-8 to the Doosan Bears at Jamsil Stadium in Seoul on the 17th, KIA erased the magic number and secured first place in the regular league on its own.

Even if second place Samsung (75 wins, 2 draws, 60 losses) wins all 7 remaining games, it cannot surpass KIA (83 wins, 2 draws, 52 losses). KIA won the right to advance to the Korean Series for the first time in seven years since 2017, when it won the overall championship.
