Jeonbuk Hyundai Striker Tiago was an ugly duck.

Tiago scored only seven goals and one assist in 32 games in K -League 1 last season. He played as a major striker, but he couldn’t record two -digit attack points. The performance was more than the record itself. There was a lot of mistakes in the process of linking and owning the ball. Last year, Jeonbuk was criticized with Tiago because of its relegation. As Jeonbuk recruited a similar style in the winter transfer market, Tiago also recognized the new team. The possibility of transfer was enough.

Tiago, who remained through a series of processes, is now an indispensable player in Jeonbuk. In the 2023 season, he was not a big hit with 17 goals and 7 assists in Hana Citizen, but he plays his role as a joker.

Tiago led the 2-1 victory in Jeonbuk, scoring the additional time of the second half, which was balanced 1-1 in the K-League 1 24th round match against Gwangju FC at the Gwangju World Cup Stadium on the 27th. Companyo was silent and struggled with the opponent’s intensive checks, but Tiago appeared and finished the game.

Tiago scored a corner from the right, and Tiago jumped in the penalty box and scored a strong header. Using the recoil of the waist, the goalkeeper was sent to the course. It was a victory made by Tiago’s header ability. Tiago scored an equalizer to be a foothold in the Pohang Steelers on the 19th.

Tiago surpassed the attack point record last year with six goals and three assists. If you are a face now, you can score double digits. Compared to the main striker compared to the first striker, the attack point record is the same. When Companyo was injured, he also filled the spaces perfectly.

Jeonbuk is undefeated in 20 games with 15 wins and 5 draws in K -League 1. This is a record that was achieved thanks to the bench members as well as the main game. Tia altitude, which has recently presented a decisive goal, is also a certain public trust.

If the current trend is, Jeonbuk is likely to reach undefeated 23 games from May 2011 to March 2012. There is a long way to go from 33 undefeated matches (Jeonbuk, March to October 2016), which is the number one in the K -League history, but continues to approach the record. weo@sportsseoul.com
