(Sports Seoul | Park Joon -bum) Yannik Shinner (1st, Italy) was the first to be at the top of the Wimbledon competition.

Shiner won the championship trophy by defeating Carlos Alcaras (2nd, Spain) 3-1 (4-6 6-4 6-4 6-4) in the Wimbledon Men’s Singles Finals held at the All England Club in London, England on the 14th.

Shiner succeeded in winning the second major tournament following the Australian Open this year. It is also the first time that Italian players won the Wimbledon singles in both men and women. Most of all, Shinner repayed the defeat in the French Open Final. It is also the first Wimbledon championship in Shiner.

Last year, Shinner won the Australian Open and US Open, and Alcaras won the French Open and Wimbledon. Shinner has escaped five consecutive games against Alkaras, and his opponent is 5-8 and Alcaras is still superior.

Shiner gave the first set, but won two or four sets and won the championship trophy. Shiner will reach the top at the French Open to achieve the Grand Slam.

Alcaras, on the other hand, stopped Wimbledon’s three consecutive challenges. Alkaras also leaves only the Australian Open for Grand Slam. Beom2@sportsseoul.com
