Afghanistan national cricket team will face South Africa tomorrow
The Afghanistan national cricket team will take on South Africa tomorrow (Wednesday) for three one-day internationals at the Sharjah Stadium in the United Arab Emirates.
This game is scheduled to be held at Sharjah Stadium at 4:00 PM Kabul time.
Afghanistan and South Africa have faced each other five times before. Twice in the form of one-day international matches (T50) and three times in T20 matches, he has been on top in all these matches, during the various World Cups in South Africa.
However, Afghanistan, which received full membership of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 2017, has beaten all nations except India and South Africa in white-ball Tests.
South African cricketer Lungi Ngidi said on Monday that Afghans cannot be underestimated for this reason.
Ngidi said: “A cricket team’s opinion is just based on what people think, but it’s not always the truth.”
“Anybody’s opinion about how Afghanistan might play doesn’t affect us because we’ve seen what they can do against other international teams,” he added.
He stated: “We do not take this series of games lightly. “They have world-class cricketers and tournament winners and on their day they can beat the best in the world.”
“We’ve seen it happen, so I don’t think anyone will look at them as weak,” the player added. “We definitely know what we’re doing.”
It should be mentioned that Rashid Khan Arman, the country’s cricket star, will be present in these three one-day international matches after the injury that kept him away from the test match against New Zealand.
It should be noted that the first match of this competition will be held tomorrow, and the second and third matches will be held on the 30th of Sanblah and the first of Mizan, respectively.
Before this, the Afghanistan Cricket Board announced the list of 17 national team players for these games.
According to this list, Ebrahim Zadran and Mujib al-Rahman will not be able to participate in this tournament due to injury.
As the captain, Heshmatullah Shahidi will lead the Afghanistan national team.
It should be mentioned that the national team of the country has not succeeded in defeating the teams of South Africa and India.
