Afghanistan cricket team made history with their first victory against South Africa

Afghanistan’s national cricket team defeated South Africa for the first time with a brilliant bowling performance. Afghanistan eliminated their opponents by just 106 runs and won the bilateral series.

Fazlul Haq Farooqi and Allah Mohammad Ghazanfar were the stars of this match as these two players took seven wickets in total.

South Africa elected to bowl after winning the toss, but Riza Hendricks and Aiden Markram were dismissed early on by Farooqui.

Farooqi then removed Tony De Zozzi and Ghazanfar removed Tristan Setbez and Jason Smith at the same time without making any runs.

South Africa’s situation, which had lost five wickets by 29 runs, soon turned into 36 runs and 7 wickets as Ghazanfar trapped Kyle Vereen and Andile Phalokayo was dismissed during the run.

However, the 39-run partnership between Vian Mulder and Bjorn Fortuin improved the situation for South Africa to some extent.

Fortuin was dismissed by Rashid Khan, but Mulder took South Africa past 100 runs.

Mulder was eliminated by Farooqi shortly after. He scored 52 runs in 84 balls.

Rashid Khan then removed Lungi Ngidi and South Africa was eliminated in 33.3 overs.

Afghanistan will play the second of three one-day internationals against South Africa on Friday.
