The Taliban government executed a man in the city of Gardiz, the center of Paktia.

The Supreme Court of the Taliban published a newsletter on its X page (former Twitter) and said that the convicted person named Mohammad Ayaz Asad was “retaliated”.

AFP news agency reported that Mohammad Ayaz Asad was executed by shooting 3 bullets in his chest by the victim’s family.

According to the news report, the person sentenced to death is a native of Mirzaki district and according to the Supreme Court of the Taliban, he killed a person named Habibullah using a Kalashnikov weapon.

The news release of the Supreme Court of the Taliban government states that the death sentence of this person was approved by the Taliban leader Mullah Hebatullah Akhundzada after the approval of the three military courts of the Taliban.

Some members of the Taliban cabinet, including Sirajuddin Haqqani, their Acting Minister of Interior, were also present at the place of execution in Paktia.

According to reports, this is the sixth death sentence attributed to revenge, which is carried out by the Taliban, after the re-rule of the Taliban in Afghanistan for more than 3 years.

According to France Press, public executions of accused persons were common in the first period of Taliban rule, but in the second period of their rule, the number of executions was few.

This type of punishment by the Taliban has always faced widespread domestic and international reactions and condemnations.
