Halali: I was happy to be Hashemian’s choice, we should support him / I did not like the followers of the followers

The former Persepolis midfielder said Vahid Hashemian’s selection as a Paleo coach has made him happy.

“Hashemian is a respected person who has taken the time for coaching over the years,” Ismail Halali said about Vahid Hashemian’s selection as the new Persepolis manager. The Persepolis club could have provided this space for healthy and young coaches for a few years so that the likes of Hashemian could show themselves. During these years, many foreign coaches came to Iranian football, many of whom left our country without positive affect and various excuses. In this football we have to support the likes of Hashemian. I was pleased to choose Vahid as the new Persepolis coach and I hope he is successful in his work and Persepolis will return to his good days.

“The fact is that I did not like this choice,” he said of Amir Hossein Pirvani’s selection as the new Persepolis coach. The followers and all the coaches are respected to me, but I believe there were better options that Hashemian could choose. It may be the choice of this coach, we have a lot of coaches who are Persepolis and have high science and knowledge and can help Persepolis but do not pay attention to them.

Halali said: “My imagination was that some new people would come to Persepolis and we should not limit our view of the selection of coaches. For example, we had Alireza Emamifar who left Iran and we could not use the likes of this coach. In the current situation, we need coaches who are familiar with and studying the science of football, and that we want to use duplicate names does not change anything.

The former Persepolis midfielder said about the chance of Hashemian’s success: “I am a fan of Persepolis and I would like my beloved team to work with any coach. Coaching in Persepolis is not easy, and Hashemian may not be familiar with the new Persepolis purchases, but he is definitely motivated to succeed in Persepolis and we have to support this coach.
