World Swimming Championship starts 11 on Singapore… Hwang Sun -woo “4 consecutive medals goals”

From the 11th, the Aqua World Championship will be held in Singapore. The Korean national swimming team was favorable at the media day held at Jincheon National Team Village in Chungcheongbuk -do on the 8th. If this atmosphere leads to the stadium, you can expect good news. The men’s 800m world record is 6 minutes 58 seconds 55, set by the United States at the 2009 Roman World Championship. The team aims to add medals at Gyeyoung 800m. The national team won the silver medal (7:01 seconds 94) at the 2024 Do World Championship. It is the first world championship medal in Korea.
In the private stocks, Hwang Sun -woo is ready to “get to the podium for four consecutive world championships.” Hwang Sun -woo won the world championship medal for three consecutive years from the 200m freestyle. He won the silver medal in 2022 Budapest, the bronze medal in Fukuoka, and the gold medal under 2024. Hwang Sun -woo said, “I will star in four consecutive times. I will set a Korean record and get to the podium.”
Middle and long -range ace Kim Woo -min will challenge two consecutive victories at 400m freestyle. He won the gold medal at the 2024 World Championship. Kim Woo -min said, “I tried a lot to keep the defending champion. In the 400m freestyle 400m, I focused on supplementing the turn with the race speed.” Lucas Mertens (Germany), a 400m gold medalist of the Paris Olympics, is a competitor.
Among the female athletes, Kim Seung -won (15, Yongin) is expected to participate in 50m, 100m, and 200m. Diving, which has achieved the highest results with two bronze medals in Doha, is also aiming for medals.
Korea dispatched 35 players to this tournament. This year’s world championship is more interested than ever before the 2026 Aichi and Nagoya Asian Games. Korea Swim won only one bronze medal (Kim Woo -min) at the Paris Olympics. The world’s highest scores are two gold medals, one silver medal, and two bronze medals.
