Lohas, Woods beyond… KBO foreign batter home run first place
Mel Lohas Jr. (35, KT Wiz) set a new record for the KBO League foreign player.
Lohas saw the 11th taste of the season in Kiwoom Heroes and Home at the Suwon Katie Wiz Park on the 3rd. At the end of the fifth round, the team targeted the changeup of Kiwoom Jung Hyun-woo at the first base of the fifth round, and broke a 135m two-run home run over the left fence. KBO League’s 175th home run, surpassing Tyron Woods (Doosan Bears, 174 home runs), became the No. 1 home run in KBO.
Lohas debuted on the domestic stage for the first time in 2017 and played in Katie by 2020, and played in Hanshin Tigers, Japan in 2021-2022. Since then, he has been playing in the Dominican League and returning to Katie in 2024. Lohas will challenge 20 home runs for five consecutive seasons for five consecutive seasons for foreign batters that have only achieved Woods and Jamie Lomac (former SSG Randers).
Katie defeated Rohas 6-2 with Lohas’ home runs.
