Kenya Athletics Star Face Keep Yegon, 31, who was struggling for three consecutive Olympics, challenged again. Keep Yegon set a world record (4:06 seconds 42), a land of 1 mile (about 1609m) at the event game ‘Breaking 4’ hosted by a sports brand held in Paris Stad Chareti, France on the 27th. The four -minute wall, which was the goal, was not broken, but the possibility was fully confirmed.
‘Breaking 4’ is a project that runs one mile in four minutes, and the record was not recognized with the help of advanced equipment and male and female face makers.
Keep Yegon wore a special suit that minimizes air resistance developed by experts and wore special shoes. Surrounded by male face makers, they ran to avoid air resistance as much as possible. As a result, 400m passed 1 minute 00 seconds 20 and 800m at 2 minutes 00 seconds 75. Afterwards, 1200m passed 1200m at 3:01 seconds 84, and the last 400m ran at 1 minute 4 seconds 58.
The 4 -minute wall was not broken, but passed 1 mile at 4:06:42, surpassing the world record (4:07:64) written by Monaco Diamond League in July 2023.

Keep Yegon is a land star who won three consecutive women’s 1500m Olympics (Rio de Janeiro in 2016, Tokyo in 2021, Paris in 2024) and three world championships (London, 2022, and 2023 Budapest). At 1500m, the first woman was 3 minutes and 50 seconds of walls.
