The Afghan Futsal Team bid farewell to Uzbek World Championships
The Afghan national futsal team was eliminated from the Futsal World Cup in Paraguay.
Afghanistan lost to Paraguay in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on Wednesday, 2-1.
Mehdi Norouzi, captain of the Afghan national futsal team, told Radio Liberty after the game:
“We first advanced to the Futsal World Cup, God willing, we’ve made our people happy. “We still ask them for forgiveness, so we couldn’t go further.”
Afghanistan’s national futsal team won their first match in Group C against Angola; But in front of Paraguay, Argene and Ukraine failed.
The Futsal World Cup began in Uzbekistan on September 5.
The final match of the cup is scheduled to take place on October 5.
