We would like to announce that the captain and vice captain of the Japan Women’s National Team, who will be participating in the Women’s World T20 East Asia Pacific Qualifiers, which will open on April 28th, have been appointed.
Ota Kurumi (29) was appointed as captain, and Yanagita Mai (25) was appointed as vice captain. The term of office of the captain and vice captain will be until May 6th, when the tournament ends.
Ota Kurumi, the Japanese ace for the first time, will be playing the major role as captain, said, “The team has been rejuvenated as a generational change, and many of the players have inexperienced, but they have great potential. This tournament is expected to be a high-level battle, so I think the key is whether or not they can bring out the potential of the young players.” He also called for support, saying, “We will work hard to achieve as many wins as possible, so please support us.”
