You’re not the only one who wonders that, Mario! Real Madrid basketball player Mario Hezonja took to social media and shared his dissatisfaction with the schedule in the world of basketball.

The basketball schedule is full of paradoxes. National teams are gathering these days for the qualification cycle for Eurobasket 2025, while many players still have to play in their clubs.

Our Serbian colleagues point out a drastic example of a schedule clash in basketball there. Namely, on the same day, Crvena zvezda and Partizan will play a big derby in the Euroleague, while the Serbian national team will play in Denmark in the qualifiers for the mentioned Eurobasket, which vividly evokes the illogicality in making the basketball schedule.

Mario Hezonja will be one of those who missed the schedule. The Croatian national basketball team will play two games against Bosnia and Herzegovina three days apart. The first match will be played on November 21 in Zagreb, and three days later in Sarajevo. On the same day, when the first match of the current qualifying cycle is played, Hezonja will have to play in the Euroleague clash of his Real Madrid team against Berlin’s Alba. In this regard, he complained on social networks:

“Is there anyone else who thinks it’s absolutely ridiculous that schedules like this still exist and that there is no agreement on the national team’s qualifying matches during the season”Hezonja wrote.

However, there are some developments. The Euroleague adjusted for the representative cycle in February, but the problem is still present.

Hezonja has received permission from Real Madrid and will play for Croatia in the match against Bosnia and Herzegovina on November 24 in Sarajevo.

You can watch both matches between Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina on Sport Klub channels.
