Romania were awarded a 3-0 victory over Kosovo after their Nations League match in Bucharest was halted at 0-0 when the away team walked off the field, European football’s governing body said on Wednesday.
The match of group C2 was interrupted last Friday in the 95th minute, when the players of Kosovo left the field after hearing pro-Serbian chanting by the local fans, which the representatives of the Romanian Football Association denied.
Uefa concluded that the Kosovo national team was responsible for the stoppage of the match and awarded the victory to Romania.
The Romanian Football Federation (FRF) has been fined 128,000 euros for multiple allegations, including one of discriminatory and inappropriate behavior by the team.
Romania will also have to play the next home match in the competition under the auspices of UEFA in front of empty stands, due to xenophobic anti-Hungarian chants.
The Football Association of Kosovo (FFK) will pay a fine of 6,000 euros for the misconduct of its team.
Romania thus finished the competition in Group C2 of the League of Nations with a maximum of 18 points, which brings them a place in Class B of the League of Nations. Kosovo finished second in the group with 12 points and will play for placement in B class.
