Josip Šutalo had three important interventions in defense, and it is interesting that, playing against Scotland, he participated in only two duels, one of which he successfully solved in his favor. Like the rest of the team, he attributes the 1:0 defeat to Petar Sučić’s red card at the end of the first half.
“We dominated from the beginning, until the red card. I don’t like to comment on the referee’s decisions, but I think it was not the most correct. We fought well and held on until the very end. We were unlucky, we conceded a goal, but we created a few chances at the end. We could have equalized. But now the focus is on Portugal,” said Šutalo after the match.
Despite being sent off, Croatia played solidly in the second half, but did not last.
“We played the game well, but in the end we didn’t take anything. Exclusion decided,” said the hitchhiker.
For the upcoming match against Portugal, Šutalo is optimistic:
“We are going for three points, as always – to win. The home crowd will be the wind at our backs and we will do our best to do the match in the best possible way.”
