At the 16th Asian Shooting Championships held in Kazakhstan, Kazakhstan, the Korean team has continued to march with four additional medals on the third day (local time), the third day of the tournament.

The most notable achievement of the day came from the shotgun sport. The Korean team consisting of Kim Min -soo (Armed Forces Sports Corps), Lee Jong -jun (Chungnam Sports Association), and Jang Ja -yong (Changwon City Hall) won the team’s silver medal.

Kim Min -soo won a silver medal in a solo and team competition at the Skit event at the Changwon Asian Championships in 2023. In two years, he hung a medal in a shotgun. It is a signal that announces the resurrection of the shotgun. In particular, Kim Min -soo, who was a solo silver medalist at the time, won the medal in the team competition and showed the continuous competitiveness of Korean skids.

Good achievements continued in the 10m air pistol hybrid. In the general department, Lee Won -ho (KB Kookmin Bank) and Yoo Hyun -young (Seosan City Hall) won the silver medal. The two players have achieved good results in the last solo exhibition, so the mixed team medal is even more meaningful.

Korea’s strength continued in the junior department. Kim Ye -jin (Southern University) and Kim Doo -yeon (Cheongju University) paired and won the mixed team. In particular, Kim Ye -jin is also the best in the tournament by adding medals in the mixed team, following the third place in the solo exhibition and the second place in the team.

The 10m air pistol mixed youth department had a shame. The Korean team, which consists of Koo Ja -min and Kim Ju -won, advanced to the bronze medal match, but unfortunately lost the medal. However, before the decision, it is considered to be a meaningful performance.

Another remarkable achievement came from the 50m moving target male general. Jung Yu -jin (Cheongju City Hall) won the bronze medal and showed the strongest of Korean shooting.

An official of the Korea Shooting Federation said, “The first shotgun medal that Kim Min -soo won for the first time in the 2023 Changwon Competition was particularly meaningful.”

For three days, Korea has won a total of 12 medals. The first day and the second on the second day, followed by four on the third day, and continues to harvest stable medals.
