Korea 17 -year -old Women’s Handball Asian Championship Lee Soo -ah and Cho Min -jin Best 7
Korea’s 17 -year -old women’s handball team was ranked third in the Asian Championships.
The Korean team, led by Kim Jin-soon, won the bronze medal by defeating Kazakhstan 30-21 in the 3rd and 4th place of the 11th Asian Women’s Youth Championships (U17) held in Jinggangsan City, Jiangxi Province, China.
Korea’s Light Wing Lee Soo -a (Incheon Business High School) and Center Baek Cho Min -jin (Incheon Business High School) were selected for the Best 7.
South Korea lost to Japan in Group B group in the group stage and advanced to the semifinals with the second place. However, he won the last minute and won the victory in Kazakhstan. Lee Soo -a scored five goals, Kim Eun -yul (Mental Girls’ High School) and Lee Ju -eun (Incheon Business High School) scored four goals.
In the finals, the host country China defeated Japan 35-33 and won the first championship.
South Korea has eight championships and the most wins, but has not been able to join the summit since the 2019 championship. Korea has been eligible to participate in the world championships under 18 years of age next year.
Kim Jin -soon said in the association that “all the matches from group leagues to semi -finals were a great stimulus for the players, and it was a competition that could grow mentally and technically.”
