(Sports Seoul | Reporter Se-ho Yoon) Three days before the 2024 rookie draft, a transaction to exchange draft picks was made twice. Through the naming rights deal, SK was able to supply three rookies.
First, Seoul SK and Changwon LG agreed on a trade on the 11th, and later, SK also concluded a trade with Goyang Sono.
The first trade between SK and LG is Lee Kyung-do and a first-round pick. SK sent guard Lee Kyung-do to LG and received the 7th overall pick in the first round from LG.
The SK club said, “Through mutual consultation with LG, which wanted to strengthen its guard lineup, we agreed on this trade to give Lee Gyeong-do, who had less opportunities to play due to strong senior players such as Kim Sun-hyung, Oh Jae-hyun, and Choi Won-hyuk, more opportunities to play.” He said.
Afterwards, SK also agreed to a trade with Sono to exchange second-round pick rankings. Accordingly, SK will exercise Sono’s 9th pick in the second round in the rookie draft, and Sono will exercise SK’s 5th pick in the 2nd round. SK has agreed to have a second-round senior pick in the future rookie draft through an agreement with Sono.
As a result, SK will exercise its right to make a total of three nominations in this rookie draft. 6th and 7th picks in the first round. And the 9th pick in the 2nd round is used to select a rookie.
The 2024 rookie draft will be held at Goyang Sono Arena on the 15th. bng7@sportsseoul.com
