
The Korean record was released at the 2025 World Swimming Federation World Championships.
Cho Hyun -joo (25, Gyeongbuk Provincial Office), who participated in the women’s freestyle 200m qualifiers on the 29th, set a Korean record of 1 minute 58 seconds 10 and advanced to the semi -finals. Kim Seo -young shortened the previous Korean record (1:58 seconds 41) written by Kim Seo -young in the 2019 National Team’s 1st Contest. It is also the first Korean record from this competition.
Cho Hyun -joo ranked 15th out of 46, and advanced to the semi -finals of the top 16. The women’s freestyle 200m semi -finals start at 9:12 pm (29th) at 9:12 pm.
The men’s breaststroke 50m Choi Dong -yeol (26, Gangwon Special Self -Governing Provincial Office) and the male butterfly 200m Kim Min -seop (21, Gyeongsangbuk -do Sports Association) also rose side by side. Choi Dong -yeol entered the world championship breaststroke 50m semi -finals for three years after the 2022 Budapest. Kim Min -seop, a 200m Korean record holder, was attracting attention by entering the Olympic semi -final for the first time in the Korean men’s butterfly at the Paris Olympics last year.
The men’s breaststroke 50m and the butterfly 200m semi -finals will also be held on the afternoon of the 29th.
