The United Nations World Food Program (WFP) Korea Office (Director Lee Hyun -ji) announced on the 21st that it has officially signed a partnership with Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors FC (Jeonbuk Hyundai) at the Jeonju World Cup Stadium.
Through this partnership, Jeonbuk Hyundai was the first K -League to attach a WFP logo to the club’s uniform, delivering a message toward the ‘hungry world’ inside and outside the ground.
The partnership consisted of the WFP and the common will of Jeonbuk Hyundai to raise awareness of the global food crisis and to act with more people.
Through this, Jeonbuk Hyundai plans to attach the WFP logo to the main exposure area of the top of the uniform, and donate a part of the uniform sales revenue to the humanitarian support activities of the WFP. This is a leading non -profit cooperation model in the field of professional sports at home and abroad, showing that sports can lead to positive changes.
Lee Hyun -ji, head of the WFP Korea Office, said, “This agreement is a special example of sports and humanitarianism, and it will be a powerful opportunity to inform football fans and the public about the seriousness of the food crisis.” I hope. ”
Chung Yoo -seok, CEO of Jeonbuk Hyundai, said, “We feel deeply responsible for the fact that millions of people around the world face extreme hunger.” “This partnership is meaningful to make practical changes by helping people who need help beyond the achievements of Jeonbuk Hyundai.”
The WFP continues to expand cooperation with the private sector to cope with the global food crisis due to disputes, climate crisis, and economic downturn. Son Heung -min, the captain of the national football team and the captain of the Premier League Tottenham Hotspur, is also a WFP -friendly ambassador, contributing to the spread of humanitarian messages through sports.
Meanwhile, Hyundai Motor, a parent company in Jeonbuk, is also practicing global solidarity by providing eco -friendly electric vehicles and charging station infrastructure to support humanitarian activities of WFP.
