(Sports Seoul | Reporter Kim Yong -il) The Taekwondo Promotion Foundation is holding the ‘Muju Taekwondo WEE ANE ONE Training Camp’ for the Olympic refugee Taekwondo player at Taekwondowon in Muju -gun, Jeollanam -do, the World Taekwondo Federation (WT) and the WT Central Training Center.
The team, which consists of five refugee players and two leaders, arrived at Taekwondowon on the 13th and participated in the training camp until the 25th. They are resources of Taekwondo Foundation (THF) Taekwondo Academy, including the Olympic Refugee Foundation (ORF) scholarship (Iranian in Italy), Rwanda (Burundi), and Jordan (Syrian) residents.
At the Taekwondowon Training Camp, we will conduct Korean cultural experiences such as inviting domestic Taekwondo leaders, joint training and exchanges with Taekwondo athletes of Muju High School, and Jeonju Hanok Village and Gyeonggi Exhibition. In particular, it is expected to contribute to the improvement of the performance of the athletes and the exchange of technology by planning to plan the National Police Agency Long -term National Organizations and Tournament Competition in Yeongcheon -si, Gyeongsangbuk -do.
This camp is part of the support of refugee Taekwondo players who look forward to the 2028 Los Angeles (LA) Olympics.
Kim Joong -heon, chairman of the Taekwondo Promotion Foundation, said, “Taekwondowon has held this training camp to contribute to the promotion of international peace through the spread of the Olympic spirit and Taekwondo.”
Refugees will also participate in the ‘Muju Taekwondo 2025 World Taekwondo Grand Prix Challenge’ held on 28-31. kyi0486@sportsseoul.com
