The Korea Baseball Commission (KBO) will introduce a check swing video reading from the league match on the 19th.
The controversy continued as the hitter and the director’s protests and exit this season continued over this season, whether the batter wielded the bat and stopped in the middle. KBO held a committee last month and decided to introduce video reading early.
The criterion is determined to be a swing strikes when the batter’s end angle is moved toward the pitcher rather than the baseline, which is parallel to the front of the home plate when the bat wields the bat with the intention of the batter. If the angle of the bat is over 90 degrees at the plate, it is a swing. However, attempts to bunt are not subject to reading.
Reading opportunities are given twice per team, separately from the existing video reading, and maintain the opportunity when it is reversed. In addition to the overtime, reading opportunities are added once.
The attack team can apply for a swing decision and the defensive team when the defensive team is judged in Northwing. Reading requests should be made by the director and within 30 seconds after the referee’s decision (10 seconds at the end of the inning). All reading is read as a KBO camera video, not a relay camera.
Check swing reading is also applied to the postseason with the same standards and procedures.
