ACLE East Asian League Stage | AFC provided
Gangwon FC, which challenges the first Asian stage of the founding, has been prepared for a tough expedition. In the expedition, you have to deal with the Australian team that you wanted to avoid.
Kangwon was decided to meet the home and expedition at the 2025-2026 Asian Champions League Elite (ACLE) League Stazhen at the AFC House on the 15th.
Gangwon deals with Shanghai Port (China), Visel Kobe (Japan), Shanghai Sunhwa (China) and Machida Zelvia (Japan) at home. In the expedition, he meets Buriram United (Thailand), Melbourne City (Australia), Sanfreche Hiroshima (Japan) and Chengdu Longcheong (China).
The 2025-2026 season, with the top 24 teams of Asia, is first divided into East and West Asia Group, and 12 teams will play the first gateway, the league stage. Unlike the group league, which was divided into four teams, it was different in the league stage that 12 teams were tied together in the league stage. In this draw, each team decided to have eight opponents in four home and expeditions.
Gangwon traditionally had the most avoided Australian expedition on the Asian stage. The biggest problem is to take a long and long travel distance. Melbourne, an ointment of Melbourne City, an expeditionary opponent, should fly at least 10 hours and 30 minutes even if you ride all four times a week. The travel time and waiting time are separate from Gangneung to Incheon Airport. Players have to play after a long time. If you overlap the K -League schedule, the condition is not easy. Another expeditionary opponent, Buriram United, also has a burden to fly nine hours as long as there is no direct flight to the power.
Compared to the fact that Ulsan HD and FC Seoul meet on the expedition, Japan (Visel Kobe, Machida Zelvia) and China (Shanghai Port, Shanghai Sunhwa). Ulsan and Seoul met with Buriram United, Melbourne City, Sanfreshe Hiroshima, and Chengdu Longcheong, so they accepted a more advantageous major.
The East Asian Group League Stage will be held for about five months from the first leg of September 17 and the eighth round on February 18 next year.
Meanwhile, Pohang Steelers, who participated in the Asian Champions League 2 (ACL2), a second division of the Asian Club Competition, will face Patum United (Thailand), Kaya FC (Pilpipin) and Tampine Robus FC (Singapore) in Group H.
The ACL2 is a general group league, which will be held in Home & Away from September 17 to December 3.
