(Sports Seoul | Reporter Lee So -young) LG Oh Ji -hwan (35) is the fifth time to achieve 10 steals for 14 consecutive seasons.
Oh Ji -hwan, who joined LG in 2009, recorded his debut in Mudeung KIA on April 16, 2010. In particular, 13 steals were successful in the season.
Although there were only five steals in 2011, it has been in full steal since 2012. In 2012, he succeeded in 23, exceeding 20 debuts in the first single season, and in 2013, he set the highest record for his personal season. Subsequently, 28 in 2014, 25 in 2015, and more than 20 steals for four consecutive years.
Since then, it has proved its steadyness through two -digit steals every season by 2024. Most of all, in 2022, he joined the 20-20 Club, which achieves 20 home runs and 20 steals at the same time, and showed the Hotajun.
If Oh Ji -hwan succeeds in 10 steals this season, he will set the fifth record of the KBO League. So far, Jeon Joon -ho (former Kiwoom), Jung Soo -geun (former Lotte), Park Yong -taek (former LG), and Lee Yong -kyu (Kiwoom) have been on the 10th steal notice for 14 consecutive seasons.
As Lee Yong -kyu is the only active player, if Oh Ji -hwan achieves this record, he becomes the second holder of the record.
As of the 11th, he has recorded 218 steals, ranking 18th and 5th among active players. sshong@sportsseoul.com
